William Scott D.O.
Dr. William Scott is a board certified physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation, and fellowship trained in interventional pain management. He was born in New York, and moved with his parents to Paris and Hong Kong for three years. He attended private and public schools, pursuing his early life’s dream of becoming the first physician in his family. In college, he studied the history and approach of Osteopathic medicine, and decided to become a doctor of Osteopathic medicine.
Dr. Scott graduated from the New York college of Osteopathic Medicine in 2002. He then traveled to attend residency at Louisiana State University’s Health Sciences Center where he completed his training in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R). After a four year residency in PM&R, Dr. Scott went on to focus his attention on pain derived from the spine and musculoskeletal system. He pursued a year of fellowship training in interventional pain management learning with a senior instructor for the International Spinal Intervention Society, Dr. Richard Rosenthal in Utah.
Dr. Scott was then hired to be the director for a University of Maryland outpatient hospital based pain management program, where he developed a comprehensive pain management program over four years. Seeking to join a private practice opportunity, Dr. Scott joined Down East Orthopedics, and helped form the Division of Conservative Care. The focus here is to provide effective solutions for spine and musculoskeletal related pain, using a comprehensive and conservative approach, while incorporating his training as a DO, and use of X-ray guided interventional procedures for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
