Dr. Lucas was born and raised in Augusta, Maine. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Simmons College in Biochemistry with a focus on Physics, she returned to Maine to be closer to her extensive family and to attend the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Lucas went on to complete her Family Medicine Residency in Lewiston at Central Maine Medical Center. During this time, she served as a Board Member on the Maine Academy of Family Physicians Board and worked on curriculum development of sports medicine. She was awarded the Central Maine Medical Center Research and Professionalism award for her accomplishments during Residency. She then pursued a Fellowship in Sports Medicine in at Maine-Dartmouth in Augusta, Maine where she advanced her skills in dynamic musculoskeletal ultrasound, ultrasound guided intra-articular steroid injections, platelet rich plasma injections as well as acute musculoskeletal concerns and fracture management. Throughout her training, Dr. Lucas served as a team physician for Colby College and Bates College, covering numerous sports including football, soccer, ice hockey, field hockey, track, basketball, snow sports including alpine and nordic skiing, rugby, rowing, wrestling, endurance sports, and lacrosse. She has been published in several journals and presented at multiple national conferences including the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the American College of Sports Medicine.

Dr. Lucas enjoys spending most of her free time being active outdoors with her husband. Whether she is hiking, running, or kayaking in the summer or nordic/alpine skiing and fat biking in the winter, she enjoys being outdoors. As a Maine native, she is grateful for the opportunities and support the Maine community as provided her and she is passionate about serving the community she grew up in.
